Customer Coffee Seaseo Reviews
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it.!! Some issues are real but easily overcome,
I LOVE this cuisinart dtc coffee maker. It is true that the coffee is hot and fresh for hours. It’s super easy to clean. Definitely one of the best purchases I made. I would highly recommend this machine for most people. Some of the issues mentioned do have some truth…but are unavoidable given the merits of the machine…
For example, the lid does need to be put on correctly and is a little tight (but this required if the coffee is to stay hot for hours). Every once in a while I misalign it, but I think it’s obvious when this starts to happen. I could see that someone with arthritis would have a problem. This coffee maker brew may not be for the very old, or those with people in the house who wouldn’t make the effot to do it right (like some teenagers?).
Same thing with putting the brew basket in. It does have to sit fully down and can easily be put in crooked. But after you’ve used it a few times it’s obvious when it’s in properly or not. When properly placed you can remove the pot during brew without spilling a drop. Again, this machine may not be best for older people who really can’t see very well (my grandmother would have a real hard time) and for those who don’t bother to check these little things.
I did have a problem once with the autostopper not working well and dripping when I remove the pot during brew, now I always fill the basket with water and push the button to let water come through when I wash it. Works like a champ again.
Bottom line, for most people this brew cup is fabulous. I may not be best for older people because it does have a few quirks.
FIVE STARS PLUS PLUS PLUS!!!!,
PURCHASED THIS WONDERFUL DTC MACHINE APPROX. 3 WEEKS AGO (LATE MARCH) I CAN DEFINITELY SAY…I LOVE IT. I did read the reviews, both pos/neg before I purchaced this cuisinart dtc 975. The review above says “As a previous reviewer noted, if the carafe is not seated properly, you wake up to a puddle of coffee on your kitchen counter and floor. This happened to me twice” and of course if this happens, damage occurs. It seems to me that if you take care in Setting up the coffee pot, this situation will not happen. Its all about attention to detail, the lid MUST BE IN THE “POUR” POSITION so that you don’t have leakage. Takes all of TEN SECONDS! The comments about being awkward to fill res. and the little red ball, C’mon people….don’t sweat the SMALL STUFF. Its a little plastic ball and its going to give up over time. Whenever I fill my resevoir, I give my little machine a turn to the right to see the measurer, grab my hose (kitchen sink) and turn it on. I turn it off when I’ve reached the desired amount of water and then replace my machine back to where it was!! Other reviews commented on the 5 little beeps at the end of the brewing cycle to be annoying. Well, I actually LOVE IT. And I have been standing next to it when it went off. Its not so loud, doesn’t make you jump out of your skin and if you haven’t gotten out of bed yet, its very nice to know that when you hear those little beeps, you can go to your machine and your coffee is warm and waiting for you, not you cold, frustrated and having to wait while it finishes. Can you tell, I LOVE THIS dtc 975. My ONLY Complaint (and its small) I wish I could see the water res. measure from the front of the machine….not a biggie! 5++ stars all the way
PS 98% OF CARAF COFFEE MAKERS ARE UUUGLY!! IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME HOW THIS MACHINE LOOKED, TURNS OUT THAT WAS A BONUS W/THIS MACHINE
If you’ve looked tirelessly for a new one, your search is over,
I’ve only made one pot with it, but I consider myself a Jedi Master when it comes to making coffee and espresso. After my SBUX Barista burned out, I researched for days. I thought the Zojirushi was the one, but ended up returning it even though it made good hot coffee, there were problems opening the lid and it appeared to be cheaply made. The DTC-975 is SOLID! It is well made and a class act with the stainless/black combination. The patented pour through lid system seals out air ensuring the coffee remains fresh and hot without dripping while pouring. I use a permanent stainless #4 cone filter from SBUX. Paper filters take away the oils that are essential for taste. The Zojo said it took a #4 cone, but mine would not fit in the basket without modification. It fits perfectly in the DTC-975. Maybe there are better machines out there, but you’d be hard pressed to find a 12-cup carafe maker that pleases at this price. I didn’t think I’d like it more than the Barista we had for a number of years, but yes, the force is strong with this one. Time will have the final verdict, but I am most satisfied with the $99 expenditure and that’s unusual because I have a critical eye…just ask my wife!
